I long to write, but don't believe anyone would like to read.
Which is amusing. Many of the things that inspire me to write are over a decade old and have probably been read quite infrequently; Still it feels like it would be for nothing to write without later being read. It doesn't help that there's no reliable method of feedback to say what someone reading something a decade later thought of it.
Furthermore most methods of ensuring being read are the type of shameless self promotion that makes large swathes of the internet feel so dirty. Then the other problems pile up - do I write on a platform like Tumblr and surrender control? Host a site and be at the mercy of my own incompetence? Post on imageboards and hope eventually one of the ramblings is good enough that someone will take a screenshot and pass it around?
And then to top it all off, there's the question - what if I write something distasteful which is then attached to my pseudonym? Surrendering a pseudonym is easy, but surrendering the bloc of work that would go with it is much more difficult.

Every character assumes that this mask is legit and will work as promised based on a vague legend. It will work so well in fact, that the rival team (which showed up for no reason) will basically destroy the temple to get it. The archaeologist is surprisingly OK with this because she gets the mask and scepter in the end. So she's more of a grave robber than an archaeologist.
I can't wait for the dark live-action remake of this show.

Lately, I've been searching online for the Least Authentic Mexican Restaurant on earth. This has led me to discover that there are at least two Mexican restaurants in Moscow. I got here after learning that there are many options in Scotland, the only one on the Isle of Man has since closed, and that there are a couple in Belfast, two of which appear to be nearing authentic. The rest are Chipotle/Chili's knockoffs.
The existence of Mexican food in Belfast raises some questions. Since Mexicans are generally Catholic, is this dining option off-limits to Protestants?
As for where the Least Authentic restaurant is, I would imagine extreme Northern Europe since the climate denies the operators many ingredients. Israel might work too since nothing about this is kosher. Maybe South Africa? India? I'll let you know how this works out.
