A basic photography course should be mandatory for all elementary school kids worldwide. I can't find a single good photo of this landslide in Afghanistan that killed 2,100 people. That's a lot of people, but every photo looks like it was taken with an ancient Nokia brick and it has the same subject as all the rest: what looks like eight guys on a pile of sand in a playground.
Actually, I found some others. I think the deal here is that Afghanistan is just so universally brown that absolutely nothing stands out. Our troops deserve a picturesque war zone! Look at what Vietnam did for our culture. This war is going to produce a bunch of boring wasteland movies. We should invade Micronesia! For the good of our film industry!
