So Whitney Houston died, and everyone's lauding her as the black queen of pop, or whatever, but was she really that great? I only know one of her songs, and quite frankly, there are much better female singers out there, in my opinion, like: Aretha Franklin; Patsy Cline; Amália Rodrigues; Tina Turner; Edith Piaf, just to name a few. Now, she has a nice voice, I agree, but this seems more like the usual, “Oh noes, a famous person died, let's tell the world how great they were”. But maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.
And now for something completely different.
I was listening to the radio just now, and this song, a love song starts playing. So far so good, but as soon as the guy starts singing “Baby”, the music stops and a Brazilian guy with a deep voice says: “Mulher”. This then goes on throughout the rest of the song, every time the artist sings a line, the Brazilian guy translates it right after, and he's not even singing it, just talking with a very deep voice. The weird part is, I'm not in Brazil. Why would anybody play a song like this on the radio?
