Anyone that tells you that a computer is only as good as the person programming it deserves to have their head kicked in until it's a bloody stump, still mindlessly parroting bullshit things college instructors with no real-world experience told them once in the late 1970's. Fuck that. You haven't spent enough time with machines to know that they are basically voodoo boxes that do whatever they want, whenever they want. They're spiteful and hateful entities with personalities. They have senses and use them for evil purposes. You cannot tell me otherwise unless you have as much as experience as I do.
Let me break down how any given piece of electronics works:
(Human Input) → ( ????????????? ) → (Random unexpected output)
I honestly believe that we only perceive the output of electronic devices to be the desired output. Somehow, we just convince ourselves that things are working properly when they are not. They aren't now and never have been. Basically, we live a huge Matrix-esque lie.
Why do cables fail? Oh, you can probably name a bunch of reasons, but you're forgetting the most common answer: NO DISCERNIBLE REASON WHATSOEVER
Here's a fun game: did you just have a completely random and unexpected failure that cost 4+ hours of troubleshooting? Try to figure out why 1.5m of cable failed. You won't be able to. It has some problem somewhere, that's for sure. Chop it in half, test both sides. Miraculously, both halves will have proper continuity all the way through. Put on new ends, they both work. Link them together, they work as a whole. If we lived in a non-voodoo world, the answer would be that the failure was in the exact middle and you cut it out by accident. If that's the case, how does this happen so reliably? Why do cables only fail in the exact middle?? Clearly, voodoo is the answer!
