There are lot of annoying trends on 4chan now, but not a single one is as infuriating as Reidick was in its day. Part of the problem is that there weren't nearly as many people on 4chan then as there are now. A gang of three conspirators could drown out all content if they worked on it and they nearly succeeded with this piece of shit.

It's as stupid as it sounds. It's a picture of a dick dressed up in mspaint to crudely resemble Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It has blue thick-line paint hair, a little smiley face, and the text “teh rei.” The accompanying message was usually “She is cute, that is why she is called Rei Chan.” Whatever the post count is now, I'd bet at least 700,000 of that number was THAT FUCKING POST. It was ALWAYS on /b/ every hour of every day and usually on page 0 sometimes two or three times. As it started to invade other threads and persisted and multiplied it eventually became bannable. It was probably an overreaction, but given the times any new visitors may have come to believe that the site was nothing but this one image…

I won't post a picture of it because I FUCKING HATE IT oh, and it would probably violate terms of service or something. I'll come up with a good analog, I swear.
