>>245 I've done some advanced research at great risk to my own mental physical wellbeing and I've figured it out. I know how Shii made his journey to ancient Japan. He's a crafty one, I'll give him that.

As you may know, time-travel is poorly understood by modern science, so traditional scientific methods aren't of much use to us here and we'll have to delve into the esoteric and the supernatural to work it out.

In 1970 light aircraft pilot Bruce Gernon became caught in a time-warp while flying towards Florida through the Bermuda triangle, landing far sooner than he should have. This is a key piece of evidence in the notions that something odd is ongoing in that general area. Now, he was heading TOWARDS Florida and he went forwards in time... so I postulate that by flying AWAY from Miami he would travel backwards in time. This is further re-enforced by the failure of Flight 19 to reappear - it was heading AWAY from the US coast, so it most likely flew back in time.

But how would Shii obtain an aircraft? Is Shii a pilot? To answer the latter question, I do not know. To answer the former, I have a hypothesis: Shii owns a charter airline.

Now, here is a list of airlines in Bermuda:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_airlines_of_Bermuda
But there are 15 airlines there! how are we supposed to work out which one is Shii?

Well, there are two hints that give him away:

  1. It is the only one with a blue link, and Shii was an avid Wikipedia user. While Shii himself did not create the article, the user that did has now been deleted - punishment for exposing Shii, or Shii's puppet account? You decide.
  2. LongTAIL aviation. Shii has an account on WikiFur among other places [I swear the w2ch wiki once had his Furry avatar from a SA sockpuppet, did I make that up?], and what do furries have? LONG TAILS!

Now, we run into an apparent problem. The distance from Bermuda to Toyko is around 12,000km while the longest ranged plane Longtail aviation poses in the Wiki article (Falcon 900) is 7500km. This disheartened me, until I phoned an old pilot friend and this topic came up. He told me that while he couldn't give me the information directly as he was being watched by French security services, that an aircraft's glide performance can be calculated based on a mathematical ratio. A Cessna 172 for example has a glide ratio of 9:1, for every 9ft it travels forward it loses 1ft of height. I couldn't find the Falcon's distance, but since the 767 has one of 12:1 I decided to interpolate and go with 10:1 because I was never very good at math. This tells us that Shii's Falcon, with a service-ceiling [operating height] of 51,000ft could travel a maximum of 510,000ft before hitting sea level. That is 155 kilometers, meaning Shii would land in the sea before even reaching Hawaii. ( http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?R=7600km%40bda )

Damn. I was so sure I had cracked it. At this point I was willing to give up, but then I struck upon an idea. What if I called Longtail and scoped them out for information instead of trusting Wikipedia? Wikipedia is Shii's domain, he could easily be manipulating the information there. I wasn't to be disappointed by my hunch.

I phoned up Longtail, cunningly disguising myself as "Mavery Arrow", international businessman of renown and asked if they had an aircraft available to take me from my mansion on Bermuda to the international businessman's conference in Hawaii. They informed me that they had a Boeing 737 business jet. When it came to discussing pricing I bluffed that my servants were attempting to launch a socialist coup and I had to go. This act of genius saved me a lot of money in leasing fees, and ensured that Shii and his minions would never catch on to the fact I was close behind him.

Longtail's website states that their BBJ has a range of 5400km http://www.longtailaviation.bm/charter/ and that it is registered as VP-BOP. Looking up this registration revealed the information that it actually belongs to HongKong Jet ( https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/Boeing/737/40117/VP-BOP-Hongkong-Jet ) which is interesting as it is a Bermudan registered aircraft. [VP-B and VQ-B are the Bermudan registration codes.]

I believe that this was a trick by Shii - after all, why would someone who wanted to fly to Ancient Japan name their aircraft after an island owned by the hated Chinese? That's exactly what he'd want you to think. A cunning double bluff, SHII! It'll take a LOT more than THAT to fool MAVERY ARROW, INTERNATIONAL MAN OF RENOWN.

So, 5400 miles from Bermuda. Surely that will get us to Japan? http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?R=5400nm%40bda
DAMN! Even factoring in gliding by adding 100-200 mi won't take us there.

Now, it is possible that the 5400 figure is only for maximum load - i.e. with full passengers and cargo - while Shii would be travelling alone. This may be sufficient to get him within range of Japan since a lighter aircraft can travel further. It may also exclude an additional 200mi or so included for diversion to another airport which would be unnecessary on a flight to ancient Japan.

However there is another option, if we dig deeply into Shii's old website, we find this page:
http://bibanon.org/everything-shii-knows/shii.org/knows/Death.html
Now, what relevance does this story have to us?

Well, read it. Firstly, because I enjoyed the story [IF YOU'RE READING IT DO SO BEFORE CONTINUING, SPOILERS AHEAD] and secondly because of this relevant section:

>The crane grew large enough for him to ride on it with comfort. It then spread its wings, rose high in the air, and flew away over the mountains right out to sea.
>Sentaro was at first quite frightened; but by degrees he grew accustomed to the swift flight through the air. On and on they went for thousands of miles. The bird never stopped for rest or food, but as it was a paper bird it doubtless did not require any nourishment

I believe the Crane is a metaphor for Shii's Aeroplane. Both the bird and the plane are swift, comfortable, and do not require food or rest. But then we continue:

>...a storm came on, and the wonderful paper crane got damp, crumpled up, and fell into the sea. Sentaro fell with it. Very much frightened at the thought of being drowned... Sentaro was all but paralyzed with fear now that he felt his end so near, and screamed out as loudly as ever he could to Jofuku to come and rescue him.
>Sentaro was awakened by his own screams, to find that during his long prayer he had fallen asleep before the shrine, and that all his extraordinary and frightful adventures had been only a wild dream. He was in a cold perspiration with fright, and utterly bewildered.

I believe that this is a fictionalized version of Shii's Journey back to ancient Japan, leaving us with the following sequence of events:

  1. Shii founds Longtail airlines.
  2. Shii leases or purchases the 737BBJ and flies away from Miami over the Bermuda triangle in order to travel back in time, then exits the Triangle turns towards Japan. He violates ETOPS rules 3. doing this, but he is so far back in time that the FAA does not exist to punish him!
  3. Shii gets within a few hundred miles of Japan when the engines of his aeroplane stop working and he begins to glide. No luck, he crashes into the sea. Hitting the water at ~200mph crumples 5. up his wonderful aluminium plane and Shii is thrown into the sea. He almost drowns and loses consciousness crying out for help...
  4. When he awakens, he is in a temple having being rescued by the priests when he washed ashore in Japan. Shii settles into his new life, influencing the story of Sentaro to tell us in the present what he has done.

And THAT is how Shii flew back in time to ancient Japan and created a stable time loop in the process. Use this information wisely, as it was incredibly difficult to secure. I will soon have to go into hiding as I fear Shii's goons may be closing in on me or those close to me.
