Shii is a gentle soul erudite scholar who needs to be loved. We must find Shii and gently caress him. Shii's long thought pieces curves around into the post-modern imaginarium and through the social perspective into a modern interpretation of mysticism. He violently questions the status-quo through his words and into the collectivist interpretations of politics. His readers moan with joy.
Archivist's Note:
Either on or shortly prior to 2016-11-12, 0037 made an edit to the opening post of the "Shii is" thread, presumably in an attempt to be funny. The original opening post of the thread is the following:
Shii is a filthy kike! He's greedy, anti-American, and Jewish to the extreme. Back in middle school, he kept talking about how he wanted to screw my little sister out of her allowance! I called him up on Skype and his gross filthy subhuman voice answered me. It droned on and on about how the rich shouldn't be taxed and how atheists and liberals (they are one and the same in his reptilian brain) should be executed, along with the Palestinians.
I hate him! He's dirty, racist, and misanthropic! I hope the Japanese student he's dating leaves him!
Some context for this change may be found in the posts immediately following >>332.
Or you can Sell this back for an Amazon.com Gift Card!!
Too bad I wrote a bunch of notes in it. Mostly "lol."
Just a reminder that tonight 8-9PM EST Shii will be a guest on Just Energy Radio!
This guy hates evola so much, what is his deal?

I remember being like 12 or 13 years old, back when Shii was still in his (personal) wiki-editing (in)glory- I sort of looked up to him, in ways. He seemed to know a lot, had seemingly-unique opinions, and wrote a lot of shit. I thought it was really cool that someone smart, like I thought I was, was using the internet and being a japanophile nerd (just like I was) but was also writing substantial, interesting stuff. Taking him as some sort of a weird-ass role model, and thinking myself a like-minded lolicon/intellectual, I even went as far as making a personal wiki (thankfully long dead and not even archived anywhere).
I thankfully distanced myself from all that and grew the fuck up, but, later, out of curiosity, I decided to figure out what happened to that Shii guy I used to think was pretty cool, and I found the Avery Morrow we know today. At first, I wasn't taken too far aback. I mean, I thought some of his first articles (like this one http://avery.morrow.name/blog/2010/03/religious-studies-the-future-of-an-illusion/) were pretty decent, and it was cool to see he was still doing the whole religion thing.
As someone always interested in religion and such, even Guenon seemed pretty cool- a little off the deep end, but still, he was an obscure philosopher with appealing ideas about the unity of all religions. It didn't seem all bad, and I was glad to see that he was still off being a pro-religion intellectual.
And then I kept reading, and began to ask "What the FUCK is this?" with increasing frequency.
I'm just as curious as anyone as to what has brought someone who seemed to be reasonably intelligent to turn into some sort of neo-fascist new (old?) age conspiracy-theorist. Was his disgust with present-day religious studies strong enough to make him radically revolt against sane conceptions about religion? What kind of graduate school would be interested in research from someone of his area of expertise?
Avery is sort of confounding at this point, and I still have enough residual respect for him that I am really, really curious about what he has to say. I hope someone records or recalls what he says in this "radio show" tonight, in case I don't get a chance to listen.
Shii went from being a fairly interesting guy to talk with to some neo-fascist nut case, obsessed with obscure ancient religions, UFOs and all kinds of other crap. I don't know how it all started. It's not like he took a bunch of drugs and just started having bizarre thoughts or anything. He just started believing in this really stupid stuff.
Everything seems to be posted to youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/user/JustEnergyRadio?feature=mhum ) but I'm recording it just in case.
and apparently there's this
http://www.justenergyradio.com/just-energy-radio-archives.htm
Looks like the interview went well. Everything he had to say seemed somewhat reasonable, but maybe that was just because of the act he had to follow (omg wut). No mention at all of Evola, strangely. The host couldn't pronounce a single Japanese term correctly but did actually question the provenance of his sources.
I caught about twenty minutes of it, and was actually impressed. Had I no further knowledge, based on what I heard I would have assumed that Avery was just a dedicated scholar who had happened upon some unique, ancient texts. However, compared to "Dr." Louise, he could've stayed silent and still came out looking like a genius.
I'm interested in giving it a better listen, once it's up somewhere and I can sit down with it.

^^^ Shii's interview. This will save you a couple clicks.
i thought he was libertarian...
Everyone seems to go through a Ron Paul phase. Now he's skirting this idea of fascism. I think he believes something like enlightened people should be in charge. Too bad every other party believes they are they know all the answers. Thankfully there's very few that share his opinion. I'll be damned if the pseudo-science my government is chasing is UFOs and Atlantis. I'll stick to good old-fashioned creation science, climate change, climate change denial, and gender theory, thank you very much.
I found his profile on a certain site with a list of things he is reading. I don't want to cause him trouble, though. Should I link it, extract and rephrase the content, not link it, or what?
>>150 you mean goodreads dot com? doesn't take a supa hacka
What the FUCK happened to shii.org? I loved reading his wiki!

Really old anime reviews.
i wish he would shoutout to us in one of these interviews :(
You keep saying that like it's supposed to mean something.
Just noticed that /yukkuri/ and /read/ are both 404 as well now. I thought I saved most of those yukkuri pics in anticipation of this, but I can't find them now.
Here is Shii's book as a pdf for anyone interested. Have a good laugh! http://puu.sh/787yz.pdf

He deleted it because "lol permissions" and then set his robots.txt to block IA.
Another reason he's a cunt.
Hey, shii.org stopped for me too.
Let's all hang out in the comments of his blog!! http://avery.morrow.name/blog/
There are now two customer reviews for Shii's book on Amazon! Both are 5/5, both verified purchases.
Neither one makes much sense.
>mainstream does not accept man on this planet millions of years ago and continues to ignore anomalous findings like stumps of stone pillars in coal beds 300 millions years old and a screw that was found inside a piece of mineral dated at 21 million years......

Did anyone save that manga he translated about Japanese leftists?
he's probably talking about the gomanism thing? but i didn't know that was leftism. I've never been very good with directions...
No, sorry, that was unclear. I can't remember the title. It wasn't Gomanism or Awatake. It had a communist cell that imploded, sexually assaulting their leader with a paint brush. Then things got surreal.
I'm pretty confident shii translated it and hosted it on shii.org/read. Distinct connection in my memory with things he said about the history of Japanese leftism and their problems with the Japanese language.

I know that he translated something SICP related, for /prog/....
I think it's our duty to write nasty reviews on amazon...

I would love to see a LAC all caps rant in an amazon review.
I'm going to buy the book so it shows Confirmed Purchaser next to my name. Aside from being full of imaginary bullshit, what are some valid critical points I could make?
Please try not to harass Shii. I know it's very hard to do, but try.

Another interview
For anyone working on an obsessive timeline/entire bedroom wall full of photographs linked by string, there's this from an Amazon review:
>I met Avery Morrow at our Japanese Matsuri in Santa Fe and bought his book there.
That was 22 March 2014. He might be making the rounds to similar events.
I wonder if Shii is opposed to doing gay things. I think I have kind of a crush on him.
so like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pederasty_in_ancient_Greece probably
What's wrong with Avery's voice?
Another interview:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/supernaturalgirlz/2014/03/09/sacred-secret-writings-of-ancient-japan-chronicles-of-the-gods
Upcoming interview:
http://www.wheredidtheroadgo.com/ on Saturday the 28th of June 2014 @ 11PM EDT. This one will actually be broadcast on a real(ly weak college) radio station. If you're near Ithaca NY, and willing to climb a hill to be within a couple feet from the broadcast tower, you can listen live on WVBR 95.3 FM. If you've exhausted your airline miles stalking Shii elsewhere, try: http://www.wvbr.com/listen
The show will eventually be archived here: http://wdtrg.blogspot.com/
In Amazon review news, someone dared to give our hero a 4/5 >:(
Also, this rambling nonsense. It may look out of context, but no, not really:
>Notably, the documents state that radiation can be de-activated, something the Japanese might well consider. Optimization should not be confused with magick, empowerment, invincibility or immortality. It is based on Sufficiency/Toyoko, one's due fulfillment within a communal benevolence, not ambition and greed.

Where have you been? I already broke this story. Stop stealing my thunder you turkey.
I miss Shii
It has been a slow quarter here at the Shii Fan Club World Headquarters. The last thing of note was this: http://www.grahamhancock.com/forum/MorrowA1.php which was posted in late October. This steep fall in production may lead to layoffs. Merry Christmas! Please don't steal office supplies in anticipation of your imminent downsizing!
A signed copy of the book sold on eBay on October 1st.
>Item location: Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States
He was signing books there. And only there, it looks like.
>Item condition: Brand New
The seller didn't even read it! >:( Btw, list price = $16.00. Price SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR = $13.95 w/free shipping. Dude should sign college textbooks.
To be fair, it's $11.82 on Amazon, so I guess his signature technically raises the price by $2.13.
Whats with the weird obsession with Shii? Excluding the obvious reasons. Do we all share the same thought of him being an interesting guy?

Whats with the weird obsession with Shii? Excluding the obvious reasons. Do we all share the same thought of him being an interesting guy?
Why does an obsession have to be weird? Can't we be obsessed within the bounds of normalcy?
>>220
Obsession isn't normal. Obsession is a mental sickness that may stem from physical, emotional, or spiritual problems.
>>221
But then calling an obsession weird would be a pleonasm? Or is a weird obsession an obsession that's unusual among other obsessions? If so, what makes my obsession with shii so peculiar?
Did Shii do any other shit recently? I took a break from stalking him for a while and have been trying to catch up.
Top result for "avery morrow shii" on Google. Mission: SUCCESS!
It's time to put on your official Shii Stalking Hats, everyone. Remember, if your hat doesn't have the hologram seal, it's a cheap counterfeit! Disregard the many negative Amazon reviews saying that these are used Michigan State University baseball caps. Our new supplier has been providing brand new, quality factory seconds.
It has been over a year since we checked in last and things have been very quiet. Our hero is at least claiming to be doing his postgraduate studies at the University of Tokyo. This could be verified by simple means.
One interesting thing of note is: http://kotoshiro.org
>Kotoshiro is a general audience journal that aims to publish well-formed, contemplative writing from around the world about Shinto, shrines, and Japanese spirituality... [O]ur first volume, [is] to be published in January 2015...
Yes, that would have been (half) his own "peer-" "reviewed" "academic" "journal." There's a reddit post with no replies about it, a mention of extending the deadline for submissions, and then nothing else. I'm tempted to submit a paper on my theory that Shinto is mostly a real estate scam.
Other than that, he's been moderately active on Quora. Twitter is active, though mostly just retweets.
Remember to check out our After Christmas blowout on Shii Stalking Hats! Great deals on sizes perfect for every microcephalic member of your family!
Remember guys, Shinto isn't a "religion". There's no such thing as a "religion". And those "cults"? You've been deceived by Western media. The correct* term is "new spiritual movement".
Shii has gotten his site removed from the wayback machine, which is sad (but not aya.shii.org and 3hb.shii.org). Also, i haven't seen 3hb (and 3hrb.blogspot.com) linked here before; they might be interesting to some.
>>229
Should I fill his email with my gay fanfics?

You should post them here first. So we can proofread them. Yes, that's it.
