The Problem with Fourchan (25)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2012-08-31 16:02 ID:0Id2PH8q [Del]

The problem with 4chan is that you have an entire fucking generation of users who have never been under SA's thumb, don't remember how shitty that was, and are willing to let things become the same way on 4chan.

/q/ is a fucking disgrace, mods is a murderer, etc.

Not that I'm not right.

unless you are 0037 himself I am going to have to look at your buzzword-strewn post and dogwhistle site names and call you a troll or authority apologist

this isn't even getting into the accuracy or lack thereof of what you are saying

SA now is completely unrecognizable compared to what it was in 2003. It's this hot-bed of tolerance and shit. Not that tolerance is bad, but enforced tolerance can hang from the nearest tree... I forget what I was going with this. Something about your natural right to call faggots what they are. I'll name-drop "cat ladies" and leave it there...

As a side note, I think the police should be selected by the draft. It wouldn't be a career, but instead four years of long hours and low pay. The problem with cops is that so many of them WANT to be cops and if you want to be a cop, chances are you're in it for the power trip. Society as a whole would be improved by the draft: cops would be more lenient rather than arresting people at the border for illegal chocolates (job doesn't pay enough to bother with stupid shit). Taxpayers would save billions and the public would have a greater respect for the law because these poor people are being forced to do it (and they'd actually be heroes rather than insist we call them heroes for hassling high school kids)...

Mods, like cops, are often the worst kind of people. If you WANT to be a mod, chances are you're fucked in the head. Oh sure, there's plenty of people that want to give back to the community and do a real service to society, but there's also a whole bunch that are just looking for revenge. So yeah, mods can kill a site (e.g. SA)...

So you're saying it's not being moderated because the user base no longer pleases you?

I may be fucked in the head, but I'd still make a damn good mod.

I... well... for unrelated reasons.

Also, the rumor has been spreading that SA is infiltrated by the FBI or other interests and that (if the memes on the OhInternet forums are anything to go by) they-whoever used that influence to take down Encyclopedia Dramatica because it was too reminiscent of Wikileaks/was too tight with that whole anon-culture deal/whatever.

I dunno if that's bullshit or not.

Surely you're not that gullible, 9-san.

the chain of reasoning is thus, or similar: OhInternet has SA memes in its forum design, Sherrod is a big fat narc, the FBI has a long and storied history of infiltrating protest/etc. movements, both SA and OhInternet/ED are sites that experienced inexplicable changes in direction, and make of that what you will.

But SA's change in direction happened a long time ago, well before the Anonymous movement. ED appears to be a case of selling out, not infiltration. Also, if it was an infiltration, then it has failed due to the various alternative reincarnations of ED that have popped up since.

I think "FBI INFILTRATION" would rank pretty low on a list of reasons why a site changes direction. Though please, for the sake of comedy, assume that's what's happening every time the banner at the top of this board changes...

However, the idea of staid men in blue suits being paid to frown unknowingly at nonsense internet memes is a hilarious concept and should be greenlit for a Showtime original series any day now...

none of them, unfortunately, with the e-value of ED

I think you're overestimating the value of the original ED. I don't recall it being central to the Anonymous movement.

girlvinyl made OhInternet because she's a fat moneyhungry cuntnugget that couldn't make any more money with the ED business model. Saying the FBI is behind it is a violation of Occam's razor to say the very least.
