This may not be the best place to post this, but I am planning to work on a new textboard software. The current ones are messy, hard to set up, and apache only. I have been wanting to set up a textboard for a long time on my website, but none of them work with nginx, and I am not switching to apache.
I have just started and I have no idea for when it will be complete, but I plan to work on it as much as possible. I will be writing it in PHP+MariaDB (which I also think will work with mysql). I am using nginx on windows but I will try as hard as can to make it cross platform. Are there any features/changes that you would to like to be added from current textboard scripts? Also, I will probably need people to help write/look at my code, since I've never done a large project like this before. If anybody has experience in writing messageboard scripts or just PHP, or even if you're just interested, email me at boardscript@cock.li.

Since your absence, progrider has become a cesspool of truly retarded people crying about white genocide and what not. Please return and save the board from its fate.
>>127
Because it's safer, more secure, and has less room for error than flat files. Plus I think it's easier.
In other, probably repeat news: dis.4chan.org does not resolve to anything, meaning that the world4chan textboards aren't just frozen, they're gone, except for archive.org backups.
>>134
Been gone for over a month now https://dis.4ct.org/lounge/read/1437675779
bitch
So guys, with 4chan dieing a slow and painful death, do you think textboards will finally become popular in the english speaking world? I'd hope so, because it's much easier to talk about shit on places like this with little to no shitposting.
4-ch has an imageboard now.
>>139
The only reason places like this have little to no shitposting is because they're relatively obscure. If this place was even a fraction as popular as 4chan, it would be filled with more terrible posts than 0037 could throw into limbo.
It'll never catch on with the public though, because there are no images.
VIP Distributed textboard written in Ruby,
8chan users have held threads that list every text/image board on the web in the past. That's why 8chan is the true cancer of the internet; they spread their cancer on to other sites while 4chan is mostly self-contained.

I didn't know you owned 4x13, Tokiko. Let's hope it doesn't have the same fate as /bbs/.
>>146
Really? Did you just think it appeared one day out of nowhere?
Where am I?
>>144
You are no longer a NEET if you working on something, like imageboards.
Can someone please tell me how to post images (and do other trickery such as animations)on The Unholy Citadel of 6ch?
Why was there a textboard mass extinction?
>>151
Some speculate it could have been a meteorite crashing into the surface of the Earth, spreading a massive cloud of dust that covered the sky, thus killing all vegetable life and with it, the textboards.
oh, look today is Christmas in Russia. I sure wish I could rule over theme as in the old days. This is my list:1protestants 2ortodox russia 3chatolics 4ortodox 5what ever 6retarded protestanat churches in USA

BaI's English-language board. Nice place.

why do chileans know of this place
>>189
From what I understand, Chile is one of the better off countries in Latin America.
I find it kinda interesting how the spanish-speaking internet evolved. It seems to be this bizarre mix of secondariness and non-secondaryness (primaryness?) and also everybody uses facebook and is not afraid to join pages like "memes weones y feos y robados de touhou". And at the same time we have BAI, which is propulated by the same people? Or different people? In conclusion I don't think I know that much about the spanish-speaking internet.
>>191
My experience with the Spanish speaking internet is: they all have a weird obsession with the Simpsons and memes with that yellow emoji face wearing sunglasses, and all of them are weeaboos. Most of which are also tremendously homosexual.
>>191
BaI is probably something that would never have happened had a few things gone differently.
It's pretty weird that it has more activity than any English-speaking textboard, though. How did they manage to do that?
Textboards are dying out.... drying up
Anonymous forums as a whole are dying out because of social media.
Antisociao media we hqve to make it popular
>>181
I would imagine because Asians and Japan in particular do not have to be constantly forced to attention like a lot of westerners do. Textboards rely solely on actually typing out a response to something rather than just picking a smug anime girl in response to everything.
>>194
I don't mind textboards being unpopular, but slightly more frequent posting would be nice as long as it doesn't result in rampant unrestrained shitposting. Many years ago 4chan wasn't so divisive, but now it has a reputation and everyone goes there to cut their teeth with babbies first troll and it has made it nearly impossible between constant thread sliding and derailment to just talk like people would talk.
>>195
They seem to have all funneled back into 4chan which is who I blame the most for the death of other imageboards. Now that Moot is gone there isn't any reason for a lot of people to exodus from 4chan so all the small imageboards just drop in post frequency.
http://atob.xyz is a modern take on textboards that is realtime.
>>195
Hell. Even forums in general are dying thanks to plebblit.
>>198
Am I just too newfriend or is the layout kind of weird to get used to?
>>199
its modern and weird, I don't like it either but normals seem to. maybe it works well on phones?
This is crazy !!
Tablecat's Lounge has died for good.
Posting on a textboard in 2017. What?
Was Tablecat's Lounge... ever good?
I thought it was just developer notes + spam
Tablecat's site is dead?
>>208
A copy of tablecat is archived here:

web-archive has an archive for tablecats site
Looks like this thread is finally relevant:

Nice.
too bad it was published in 2015 though
Fun new game: carry on conversations, but delete them before they're archived. Except we're up against the autistic here, so this is going to be very challenging. Video game of the year material in the making.
