Here's what's wrong with what I said in >>9:
- In actuality, the growth rate for my users did not grow at a linear rate of one every thirteen days but is more accurately described as a function which I'm not in the right mind to figure out right now (fuck you daylight savings time).
- Even if that rate of growth held true and the Internet remains intact over the geologic time scale, it would still (be estimated to) take many millions (but not tens of millions) of years to be competitive.
- This particular piece of California is actually on the North American plate and therefore will not move ever northward to be subducted into the Aleutian trench. I said this only for comedy value because it's far funnier than saying "eroded over time into the Bay."
